Our recorded webinars have been designed, developed and recorded by experienced anticoagulation clinicians.

Level 1

Our Level 1 training is a practical and thorough clinical demonstration which covers how to:

  • Suspend patients’ treatment plan when appropriate
  • Accurately input INR results from external and internal testing locations
  • Understand other INRstar roles and permissions and their context
  • Maintain POCT test, IQC and EQC records
  • Recognise and understand the implications of an abnormal reading
  • Know what action should be taken and when to refer to a higher level of clinical support to manage the patient

Level 2 & 3

Our Level 2 and 3 training is combined and includes an overview of the system for users who make dose changes to a patient’s prescription and authorise referrals from users with a lower level of permission. The training delivers a comprehensive overview of the system and covers the following INRstar functionality:

  • Add INR and treatment schedule
  • Recognise the implications of an abnormal reading, when to seek higher level of clinical support and what action to be taken to manage the patient
  • Complete out-of-range treatments without changing doses after referral to higher level clinical support
  • Override and/or management of patients who are out of range, missed dose, or started new treatments
  • Create a treatment plan, add diagnosis, treatment initiation to include induction/ maintenance/manual dosing management. Make changes to patients’ clinical details to include initiate and manage treatment plans
  • Add a non-warfarin patient – DOAC (Direct Oral Anticoagulant) or heparins
  • Conduct annual review for patients treated with warfarin
  • Conduct periodic review for patients treated with a non-warfarin anticoagulant
  • How to suspend, reactivate and inactivate patients
  • Perform and record quality control including POCT testing records, IQC and EQC
  • Record adverse events
  • Run reports – NPSA, TTR range, location reports relevant to quality and treatments
